Analysing an action short film

Hello guys, today Im going to show you how to analyse a short film.

Action movies

In my A level I will record two trailers about the action genre.
In this slide I will explain what is an action movie, example of action movies, with their synopsis, what is CGI and how has influence action movies.

What is an action movie?
A motion picture whose storyline involves fast-paced activity and conflict, usually including such elements as a heroic protagonist, violent flights, acrobatic stunts, chase scenes, and gunplay.

Example of action movies

Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), a deadly ghost escapes the Devil´s triangle with his crew and is taking over the seas in search of his arch-rival and author of his pain, Captain Sparrow (Johnny Depp). In the meantime, Jack is approached by a boy who needs to locate the Trident of Poseidon, something he believes only Sparrow can help him find. Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario) an astronomer and horologist joins the team to help them to find something she believes her father had always wanted her to find. Jack´s only hope is to find the mythical Trident of Poseidon, who´s master gets control of the seas, or so it´s said.

After half of all life is snapped away by Thanos, the Avengers are left scattered and divided. Now with a way to reverse the damage, the Avengers and their allies must assemble once more and learn to put differences aside in order to work together and set things right. Along the way, the Avengers realize that sacrifices must be made as they prepare for the ultimate final showdown with Thanos, which will result in the heroes fighting the biggest battle they have ever faced.

What is CGI?

CGI is a type of computer technology that is used to make special effects in cinema and on television. CGI is an abbreviation for computer-generated imagery.

• Importance of CGI                

CGI technology now has lead over other special effect methods. Why? For one, CGI is not olny safer it´s also cost-friendly and allows the filmmaker to have greater control over a production. Why risk someone´s life with a mechanical effect if you can shoot it safely and quicker in a controlled environment with CGI?

   

Best action film

Today I´m going to talk about my 5 favourites action films, Hope you like it!!!

In the fifth position we have Thor Ragnarok.

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is imprisoned on the other side of the universe and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his homework and the end of Asgardian civilization, at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela (Cate Blanchett).

In the fourth position we have Aquaman.

Arthur Curry, half human half from Atlantis, goes on a trip of a lifetime. Not only does this adventure compel him to come to terms with his real identity, but is also forces him to discover whether he is entirely worthy of fulfilling his own destiny : becoming a king. 

In the third position we have Guardian of the Galaxy.

After stealing a mysterious orb in the far reaches of outer space, Peter Quill from Earth is now the main target of a manhunt led by the villian known as Ronan the Accuser. To help fight Ronan and his team and save the galaxy from his power, Quill creaters a team of space heroes known as the "Guardians of the Galaxy" to save the galaxy.

In the second position we have Mission Impossible Fallout.

Two years after Ethan Hunt had successfully captured Solomon Lane, the remnants of the Syndicate have reformed into another organization called the Apostles. Under the leadership of a misterious fundamentalist known only as John Lark, the organization is planning on aquiring three plutonium cores. Ethan saves Luther and the Apostles escape with the plutonium. With CIA agent August Walker joining the team, Ethan and his allies must now find the plutonium cores before it´s too late.

In the first place we have the Dark Knight.

One year after the events of Btman Begins (2008), Batman, Lieutenant James Gordon, and District Attorney Hrvey Dent plan to launch an attack on the mob by arresting the shady accountant of the mob, Lau. Lau is abducted from his building by Batman and is thrown into jail.Lau divulges the secrets which results in almost all the mob bosses thrown in jail. The desperate mob bosses turn to The Joker, a sadistic psychopath with green hair, completely yellow teeth, and a custom purple suit. The Joker kills a jugde, the Police Commissioner and tries to kill the Major and Harvey. The acts of The Joker produces anarchy and chaos in the people of Gotham, forcing Batman to come to terms to which may seem to be his greatest test to fight injustice and come closer to the fine line between hero and vigilante. 

Hystory of action movies

The Beginnings:

This film genre began with the silent era´s serial films around the time of Edwin S. Porter´s classic action-western The Great Train Robbery (1903). And it has remained strong throughout all of cinematic history. Action films them expanded in the 80s and the 90s, greater violence, and stimulation.

• James Bond - Agent 007 Spy Series:

According to Guiness World Recors, the most profitable film series of all time is "James Bond" - although it has since been superceded (by the Star Wars and Harry Potter films). It is the longuest continuing series of English language films. The modern day actio-hero the James Bond ´007´character that was employed for Her Majesty´s Secrect Service - was loosely based on the character in Britisher lan Fleming´s twelve James Bond novels. A number of Fleming´s short stories were developed by other writers. Before the movies, Bond made his first appearance on TV, debuting on CBS in1954, with Brry Nelson as the American 007 agent named Jimmy Bond in an adaption of Fleming´s first Bond novel Casino Royale, Fleming made his sole camero appearance in the Bond film From Russia With Love (1963).

Beginning in the Cold War 60s (after restricitions on violence and sex were lifted somewhat), the slick, escapist Bond action/adventure Spy Films appealed to large audiences with their exotic, travelogue locales, tongue-in-cheek humor and dialogue, nifty gadgets and ingenious toys to combat evildoers, fast-action suspense and audacious stunts, and gorgeous scantily-clad sexy women. The action-oriented, sophisticated and  skillful agent, with a taske for fancy clothes (often tuxedos), dry martinis and cars (notably the Aston Martin DB5, the Lotus Esprit and various BMWs), battled various types of eccentric, deadly and infamous criminals who planeed to assault the world. The intriguing superhero lead role  has been played by six actors - Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.
